Celebrating the Publication of:
The Man Who Lit Lady Liberty Walking Tour

Author / Historian Richard Schwartz leads
A Whirlwind Walking Tour of the Peralta Park Neighborhood

Call to Purchase tickets, or come to Builders!*
**(Tour meets in front of 1316 Albina St in North Berkeley)

Richard will lead participants on a tour of the dream development of immigrant actor M.B. Curtis. Curtis took an out-of-the-way piece of property on a hill in North Berkeley and transformed it into a development for the ages. He named streets after his wife (Albina) and the stage character that catapulted him to overnight fame and riches (Posen) as well as many others. The whole town gathered to watch with excitement the building of Curtis's massive Moorish-style Peralta Park Hotel. See where his dreams materialized and grew as well as disappeared and how his presence still is felt today!
